10 Years! This April we, French truck coffee, will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary!
From farmers and art markets to our roasteries and cafes in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Memphis, it has been an honor to share this journey with all of you. To celebrate this milestone we wanted to share some of the best & most exclusive coffees we’ve ever featured.
Throughout the month we will feature a rotating blend of various exotic offerings from the Quindio region of Colombia. We are looking forward to the next 10 and we hope you are too! Thank you!
Throughout the month we are featuring 5 different varietals. All 5 have different processing methods as well, which has added another layer of quality, ensuring each one has a unique flavor profile. We will be focusing on the varietal, however it should be noted the processing techniques should not be overlooked and have a big impact on flavor.
These coffees will be available in store and brewed via Oji, Drip, Pour Over and Espresso. The five we are featuring are Geisha, Orange Bourbon, Pink Bourbon, SL-28 and Wush Wush. Some of these offerings may look familiar, but this will be the first time we have ever offered a Wush Wush and an Orange Bourbon. All in all, we are confident that these offerings make up the best, freshest and most interesting coffees we have ever offered, and it is certainly the most amount of exotic offerings we have ever offered at one time.
The importance of varieties in coffee has grown significantly in the last 10 years.
Most people are familiar with the different types of wine varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Merlot and on and on. This same trend has taken off in coffee, and while many of our single origin offerings are a mix of different varieties, some, like these are not. The most sought after coffees in the world tend to be single lot varieties. The most famous being Geisha, and we can also add Pink Bourbon, Wush Wush, SL-28 to the mix. Varieties like Geisha, Pink Bourbon, Wush Wush, and SL-28 have such unique profiles, they are best consumed as is, and not blended with other varieties.
