Colombia Felipe Arcila

This special micro lot was grown by our friends at Cofinet in Colombia. More specifically this offering is from Felipe Arcila at his Farm Jardines Del Eden. We had the chance to visit this farm back in February and it is a stunning place.

The farm is dedicated to only the most exotic and interesting varietals. On the farm you will see such varietals as Geisha, SL-28, Papayo, Sidra, Pink Bourbon, Yellow Bourbon. Think of it as a coffee wonderland. Felipe and his family have a long history in coffee, across all levels of the industry.

They specifically picked the location of Jardines del Eden for its high elevation, soil content and micro-climate. It is the perfect place in Quindio to grow specialty coffee.

This coffee was carefully hand-picked in order to select only the ripest cherries and then hand sorted to remove any defects. It is then sundried on raised beds in temperature controlled conditions until the ideal moisture content is achieved. The result is a vibrant coffee that is extremely approachable.

The Jardines del Eden farm is many years in the making and this coffee is part of the initial harvest from the farm. Scouting the perfect location took many years, and then of course it takes several years for the specific varietals to yield fruit. Remember, each Coffee bean is the seed of a fruit, and we strive to showcase that in all of our offerings. We are honored to be part of this process and hope you are too.
